The South Carolina Jazz Festival is owned and produced by the Town of Cheraw, South Carolina. Here is how we handle your information.

What we collect

When you buy tickets, make a donation, create an account, sign up for our newsletter, or contact us, we collect what you give us — typically your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and billing details. Our website also records basic visit information, like your browser type and which pages you view, so we can see how the site is being used.

How we use it

To process your orders and donations, send receipts and event updates, respond to your questions, send festival news if you have asked for it, and improve our website.

Payments

Payments are handled by third-party payment processors. We do not receive or store your full card number. We keep only the transaction records we need for accounting and customer service.

Cookies and third-party services

Our site uses cookies to run the shop, keep you signed in, remember your saved itinerary, and measure site traffic. We also use outside services that may set their own cookies — our online store, our payment processors, MailerLite for our newsletter, and the YouTube videos and Google map embedded on our pages. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working if you do.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the festival, with Town of Cheraw staff involved in producing it, and where the law requires. Because the festival is part of a public body, some records may be subject to disclosure under the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act.

Photography and video at the festival

We photograph and record our events. By attending, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded, and to that material being used to promote the festival — on our website, in our newsletter, on social media, in press coverage, and in future advertising. This applies to children attending with you.

If an image of you or your child appears in our materials and you would like it removed, email music@scjazzfestival.com and we will take it down from the channels we control.

Children

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. If you believe a child has given us information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from our newsletter using the link in any message. Sign in to your account to review or update your information. You can also ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it — we will do so unless we are required to keep it as financial or public records.

Email

Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link and opting out takes effect immediately. Receipts and notices about events you have tickets to are separate, and we will still send those.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections for all transactions. No website is completely secure, so please use a strong password if you have an account with us.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
